Michigan is smack dab in the middle of a recruiting dead period, and while the team is undergoing winter conditioning led by the strength staff, this time of year is something of a respite for the Wolverines coaching staff.

And, as you’d expect, Jim Harbaugh is taking full advantage.

Well known as an avid baseball fan who brings his gloves to games, even still now in his 50s, Harbaugh seems to have made the trek to Mesa, Arizona, the spring training home of the Oakland Athletics, along with his son Jack, and friend Todd Anson.

Given his tenure in the San Francisco and Oakland area, Harbaugh has seemed to gravitate more towards the Athletics than the SF Giants.

It’s not the first time Harbaugh has gotten involved with baseball at this time of year.

In 2015, he coached first base for the A’s for a few innings, and he ended up doing the same for the Detroit Tigers in 2016. Harbaugh spent his formative years in both metropolitan Detroit as well as in Palo Alto, California — a suburb of the two Bay Area cities.
