Texas hosted a large group of talented 2023 and 2024 prospects over the weekend including five-star running back Rueben Owens.
Owens is one of Texas’ top priorities on the offensive side of the ball in the 2023 cycle. Owens was awarded the 2021 MaxPreps National Junior of the Year after rushing for 2,989 yards on a 12.1 yards per carry mark with 48 total touchdowns.
The El Campo product was spotted hanging out with Texas star running back Bijan Robinson on his visit to Austin over the weekend.
On3Sports recruiting prediction machine has Texas is in a favorable position to land Owens over the likes of Georiga and Texas A&M.
Landing a player like Owens could cause a trickle effect with other players in the 2023 class. He is close with five-star quarterback Arch Manning and four-star wide receiver Johntay Cook.
