The Atlanta Falcons ended their trip across the pond with a 23-7 loss to the Jaguars. The team has been on a downward slope since their comeback win over the Packers in Week 2.
The offense turned in another forgettable performance. Unlike in previous weeks, though, we finally saw the team take some shots down the field.
Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder was more aggressive, but the results weren’t great. Check out Ridder’s Week 4 passing chart below, courtesy of NFL Next Gen Stats.
Overall, Ridder completed 19 of 31 attempts for 191 passing yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions. Both picks were a result of him staring down his receiver.
Ridder missed wide receiver Mack Hollins on a post route which may have gone for a touchdown had the pass been completed. Hollins’ frustration was shown on the sidelines after the play.
Falcons head coach Arthur Smith is sticking by Ridder despite his struggles in London. However, if the second-year QB doesn’t turn things around, the calls for backup Taylor Heinicke will continue to grow louder.
