Ryan Clark was one of the first people thrust into an unknown spotlight upon Damar Hamlin sustaining a scary injury on Monday.

During the nationally television NFL game between the Bills and Bengals, Hamlin suffered cardiac arrest. Days later, he has begun making improvements, but remains hospitalized.

As the situation unfolded, Hamlin spent an extended period on the ground at Paycor Stadium. We weren’t exactly sure what was going on, but most figured it was not good considering CPR was being performed on the 24-year-old.

Enter Clark.

The MNF broadcast broke away from the field. Instead, they opted to jump to their studios and eventually Clark was one of those who quickly and gracefully handled the situation appropriately.

Clark and fellow host Scott Van Pelt emotionally broke down what was going on, providing as much support as they could for Hamlin. Days later, Clark still was.

During Friday morning’s broadcast of the morning program “Get Up,” Clark wore Hamlin’s No. 3 jersey during the broadcast.
