It was an efficient day at the office for Derek Carr in Week 7. He didn’t put up big numbers, but he made the throws that he needed to in order to help get the win over the Texans.
Carr had just six incompletions on Sunday and only one of those came beyond five air yards. While he didn’t attempt a ton of passes down the field, his best throw of the day was a 25-yard rocket to Mack Hollins for a touchdown.

As the season goes along, the Raiders will need to continue to take more shots down the field. Eventually, defenses are going to start crowding the box to stop Josh Jacobs. That is when Carr will need to hit the 20+ air-yard throws.
The offense for the Raiders is clicking right now, so they shouldn’t change too much. As long as Carr can remain efficient and avoid turnovers, this offense should average 27+ points per game the rest of the way.
