The Atlanta Falcons created a new position for Cordarrelle Patterson this offseason. The former first-round pick was been labeled as the “Joker” on the team’s depth chart.
According to head coach Arthur Smith, Patterson is too talented to be listed as second-string at any position, which led to creating the Joker position. Patterson is clearly embracing his new role.
As the team warms up ahead of Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans, Patterson was spotted wearing a custom-made pair of cleats to represent his new position.

Patterson made his debut in Week 4 but didn’t get to return a kick and didn’t play any snaps on offense. Perhaps the Joker has something up his sleeve for Atlanta’s Week 5 matchup against Houston.
