LOOK: Armando Bacot, R.J. Davis attend Kentucky Derby

UNC Basketball standouts Armando Bacot and R.J. Davis were in attendance at the Kentucky Derby on Saturday.

The first weekend of May brings out the stars to Churchill Downs racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky for the annual running of the Kentucky Derby. And this year, a pair of UNC basketball standouts were among those in attendance.

Guard R.J. Davis and forward Armando Bacot were in attendance for the 149th running of the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. They were spotted watching with Kansas’ Hunter Dickinson and Kentucky’s Oscar Tshiebwe as Tristan Pharis of A Sea of Blue posted on Twitter.

This is the second-straight year that Bacot has been in attendance for the Kentucky Derby. This year, he’s joined by his teammate in Davis.

Both Davis and Bacot opted to return for another season with the Tar Heels after the team failed to make the NCAA Tournament a year ago. Bacot is returning for his fifth and final season while Davis is back for year four.

UNC has also added some key pieces via the transfer portal but the success of the team may rest on the backs of Davis and Bacot.
