Lonzo Ball upgraded to doubtful for Pelicans vs. Knicks with left hip flexor soreness

Ahead of Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks, Lonzo Ball has been upgraded to doubtful for the Pelicans with left hip flexor soreness.

Ahead of Wednesday’s game against the New York Knicks, Lonzo Ball has been upgraded to doubtful for the Pelicans. Ball has missed the last three games with left hip flexor soreness after missing seven games from March 23 to April 2 with a right hip flexor strain.

Prior to each of the last three games, Ball had been listed out at the earliest submission of an injury report by the Pelicans. While he is still doubtful to return, that he was upgraded would indicate that he is closing in on a return to the court.

After Wednesday, the Pelicans will play Friday in Washington, Sunday in New York and next Tuesday at home against Brooklyn. Despite not having Ball the last three games, the Pelicans have won the last three games behind a heavy amount of Zion Williamson brilliance. As a result, New Orleans is just a game out of the 10th seed and a spot in the play-in tournament and two games out of the ninth seed.
