Lonzo Ball reacts to Brandon Ingram’s All-Star selection: ‘He’s putting it all together’

After Brandon Ingram was named an All-Star reserve for the Western Conference Thursday, Lonzo Ball shared his excitement for his teammate.

Brandon Ingram was rewarded for his stellar breakout season on Thursday with an All-Star reserve selection. The fourth-year wingman is averaging a career-high in points, rebounds and assists. He is shooting 40.4% from three-point range, a career-high, on 6.2 attempts per contest, up from his previous high of 2.4 attempts per game.

No teammate of Ingram’s has been more outspoken about his All-Star case than Lonzo Ball. Following Ingram officially earning his first All-Star appearance, Ball spoke to Pelicans writer Jim Eichenhofer:

“I’ve been with him the last three years, and I’ve just seen him improve every year. Now he’s putting it all together.”

Ball took to Instagram in the hours after Ingram’s All-Star announcement to congratulate his teammate.

Coincidentally, Ingram and Ball were together when the former learned of his honor. Executive vice president of basketball operations David Griffin shared of video of Ingram learning he had been named an All-Star while at the Pelicans’ facility.

It’s an honor that Ingram has earned this season and a vindicating payoff for not only Ingram but clearly Ball and the young Lakers as well after their unceremonious departure from Los Angeles.
