After exiting Wednesday’s game late in the first half, Lonzo Ball has been listed as questionable for the Pelicans ahead of Friday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks with an ankle injury.
Ball appeared to sprain his ankle late in the second quarter against the Wizards and would leave the game shortly thereafter, making his way straight to the locker room just a few minutes before halftime. After initially being listed as questionable, Ball never returned to the game.
Following the contest, head coach Stan Van Gundy gave an optimistic report on Ball’s status:
“They’re pretty happy with the way he looked after the game. He got treatment during the second half and (he’s) responding pretty well. We obviously don’t know the total picture and they’ll look at him again tomorrow but they were pretty positive about it after the game.”
Earlier in the season, Ball missed three games with bilateral knee tendinopathy, an injury that he said had existed since the beginning of the season but he was able to play through initially.
