Lonzo Ball listed as questionable ahead of Pelicans game against Nuggets

Lonzo Ball is listed as questionable for the Pelicans ahead of Sunday’s matinee against the Denver Nuggets with a right hip flexor strain.

Lonzo Ball was a new addition to the Pelicans injury report on Saturday evening. Ball is listed as questionable for the Pelicans ahead of Sunday’s matinee against the Denver Nuggets with a right hip flexor strain.

JJ Redick joined Ball on the injury report as he remains out following a non-surgical procedure to his right heel.

Earlier this season, Ball missed a trio of games due to injury in mid-January. Since that night, Ball has played in every game for the Pelicans, averaging 31.2 minutes per game during that span. Only Brandon Ingram (34.0) and Zion Williamson (32.8) have averaged more minutes per game for the Pelicans since Ball’s return.

The Pelicans are currently 17-24 on the season, losers of two straight, five of their last seven and seven of their last 10. With the team backsliding, Ball’s presence on the court is certainly needed for New Orleans as their backcourt continues to struggle outside of him.
