Lonzo and LaVar Ball’s relationship has been a tangled one that has played out largely in the public over the last year. Stemming from the Alan Foster scandal, the two became split with LaVar responsible for bringing Foster into the family despite a troubled past.
The situation led to a reportedly estranged relationship between father and son for some time. Viewers of “Ball in the Family” saw first-hand how large the rift had grown at times between the two, leading to an infamous “damaged goods” argument between the two.
But that was over a year ago and, as the adage goes, time heals all wounds. The two sides have reconciled and are back on good teams, as Lonzo himself stated to ESPN’s Malika Andrews.
“We had a couple rumblings here and there, but everything got squared away. When your son gets older, they’re going to butt heads with their dad, and that’s what I did for about a year and a half. But everything is cool now.”
In the wake of the alleged money laundering by Foster, Ball control of multiple facets of his life away from his father LaVar, most notably including changing agents from family friend Harrison Gaines eventually to Creative Artists Agency. Lonzo also took a backseat role with Big Baller Brand and has remained there since.
Separating family and business has seemingly helped the relationship between the two. And remaining father and son and not business partners appears to be the way the two sides intend to move forward.
