Longhorns baseball adds top prospect Reiston Durham to 2026 class

Their latest addition is 2B/SS Reiston Durham, one of the top players in his class from Georgia

Over the weekend, Longhorns baseball continued to add to its 2026 class. Their latest addition is 2B/SS Reiston Durham, one of the top players in his class from Georgia. He has made headlines with his bat and received a grade of nine from Perfect Game USA.

In Durham, the Longhorns are getting a player who can drive the ball and get on base. He has also dazzled scouts with his speed and stood out on defense with his ability to play all over the infield. If Durham can continue to improve his game, then he could be a star regardless of his position.

Additionally, the Lawrenceville native is joining a Longhorns team with a star-studded roster. Last week, Texas also got commitments from James Jorgensen and Trent Maybin, the son of former big leaguer Cameron Maybin. If the talented trio lives up to expectations, then Longhorns fans will have plenty to celebrate.

While Durham has shown promising signs, he still has some room to grow. Due to his open stance, his swing has gotten long at times, limiting his impact at the plate. That will be one thing the Longhorns emphasize once their new infielder steps on campus.

Regardless of where Durham fits in the lineup, he was one of the top players in his class from Georgia and drew plenty of interest before committing to Texas.
