Things are setting up for a big year from Logan Jones, the Iowa Hawkeyes’ center. He is finding himself among some of the premier lists and award watch lists in college football.
Logan Jones has been named to the Outland Trophy watch list and was recently in the top 10 of The Athletic’s “College Football Freak List” for the most freakishly athletic players in college football.
This time, Logan Jones finds himself named to the Rimington Trophy watch list.

The Rimington Trophy is awarded each year to the most outstanding center in all of NCAA FBS football.
Logan Jones has an opportunity to join another Iowa great, Tyler Linderbaum, in taking home the Rimington Trophy if he can hoist it at the end of the year.
Linderbaum won the Rimington Trophy in 2021 on his way to being an NFL first-round draft pick.
Jones had a strong 2023 being named to the coaches’ and Phil Steele’s Third-Team All-Big Ten team. He appeared in 13 games and is in line to be the heart of an Iowa offensive line that is looking to get things back up to the proper standard of the Kirk Ferentz era.
Entering the 2023-24 college football season, Logan Jones has appeared on Athlon’s and Phil Steele’s preseason third-team All-American teams. He is also a member of Athlon’s and Phil Steele’s preseason First-Team All-Big Ten teams.
