Local standout QB Cole LaCrue has Buffs in top 3, visiting CU over weekend

Local three-star QB Cole LaCrue is taking an official visit to Colorado this weekend

If you follow local high school football, Cole LaCrue is a name you should know. Broomfield’s senior starting quarterback threw for 1,854 yards and 21 touchdowns in the regular season while leading the Eagles to a perfect 10-0.

With that, his recruiting stock has risen dramatically. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound three-star prospect only had a handful of Football Championship Subdivision offers heading into his senior year until Colorado, Wisconsin and Tulane all offered him on Monday. LaCrue then announced on Wednesday that those are his top-three schools.

The Buffs have one key advantage, however: proximity. As Broomfield is enjoying a bye in the state playoffs, LaCrue will be taking an official visit to CU this weekend with Oregon coming to Folsom Field.
