Liv Morgan has provided an update on her own injury status during a recent video game live stream.

While appearing on UpUpDownDown, Morgan was playing Mansoor in Street Fighter VI and gave this commentary (h/t Wrestling Observer):

I’m sitting at home with my torn shoulder and I’m like, ‘I’m really excited to win the UpUpDownDown championship, I’m really excited to beat Ma.ce’ and his kid just so happened to have a recital. I would like to see footage of this recital, I’m just saying. So you sent your friend out and even with one shoulder, I’m still going to beat you. …

I wasn’t going to miss this for the world. One shoulder, no shoulder, it doesn’t matter.

Morgan was hurt during a match on the May 12 episode of WWE SmackDown, when she and Raquel Rodriguez were defending the Women’s Tag Team Championship against Bayley and Dakota Kai (with Kai also suffering an injury during the match). Though they successfully retained the titles, Morgan’s shoulder injury caused WWE to vacate the championship, which was subsequently won in a Fatal 4-Way by Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler.

Recovery time from a torn shoulder depends on the size of the tear, but can range from four months to a year. That makes Morgan’s return to the WWE ring in 2023 in doubt unless everything goes right for her.

As reported last month by Fightful Select, Morgan was also cast in a movie about Mildred Burke based on the book “Queen of the Ring.” Wrestling Observer notes that it’s not clear whether her shoulder ailment will affect her participation in that film.
