The Longhorns are looking to take advantage of a 2022 recruiting class that is full of talented wide receivers.
During his time at Alabama, Steve Sarkisian had four first-round caliber wide receivers with Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs III, Jaylen Waddle, and Devonta Smith. In his first full class with the Longhorns, Sarkisian will be looking to load up on talent at the position to take advantage of his offensive system.
Texas had one wide receiver lined up with Phaizon Wilson of Lancaster, but he decommitted in late October after Quinn Ewers and Billy Bowman jumped ship. Following the announcement of his arrival in Texas, the new head coach got his first commitment of the 2022 class.
Four-star wide receiver Armani Winfield was the first to pledge to the new head coach and Texas. Recent reports indicate that Sarkisian could be lining up another top receiver in the state. Evan Stewart of Frisco-Liberty has concluded his recruitment and many in the industry believe that he will be Austin-bound come 2022.
In total, the Longhorns have sent 22 offers out to receivers in this particular class. Let’s take a look at each one.
