The second practice participation report from the Detroit Lions in advance of the team’s Week 3 matchup with the Minnesota Vikings saw some upticks in status. Three players saw their activity level increase.
Running back D’Andre Swift (ankle) was a limited participant on Thursday after sitting out Wednesday’s practice. Safety Juju Hughes (shoulder) and cornerback Amani Oruwariye (back) upgraded from being limited on Wednesday to full participants on Thursday. Oruwariye missed the Week 2 win over Washington.
Alas, it’s not all good news. Rookie defensive end Aidan Hutchinson and Pro Bowl left guard Jonah Jackson were not among those getting more action. Both Hutchinson and Jackson were sidelined for a second day in a row. Hutchinson is dealing with a Charley horse in his thigh, while Jackson is nursing an injured finger.
Starting safety Tracy Walker missed the practice but his absence was not injury related. Defensive lineman John Cominsky remains out after having wrist surgery. He will not play for “a little bit” per coach Dan Campbell, meaning beyond Week 3.
