Welcome back to Detroit, C.J. Moore!
The Lions signed the veteran safety to the active roster on Tuesday, plucking him from the Houston Texans practice squad. Moore has been with the Texans all season since being waived by the Lions during the preseason. Moore did not play for the Texans.
Moore wore No. 38 for the Lions from 2019-2021, playing in 45 games over three seasons. He started one game in his final season and played his most extensively in the 2021 campaign. Moore, from Ole Miss, was a fixture on special teams all three seasons in DEtroit nad that figures to be his primary role now that he’s back. The Lions lost CB and special teams ace Bobby Price to IR prior to the Week 7 trip to Dallas.
The Lions had an open spot on the 53-man roster after waiving WR Maurice Alexander earlier this week.
