Fans will officially be back at Detroit Lions training camp in Allen Park this summer. The team released the full training camp schedule and announced that fans would indeed be allowed to attend.
Training camp was closed to both fans and the media (other than very brief looks) a year ago due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The recent removal of most mandates from the State of Michigan allows the Lions to welcome fans back, with some restrictions in place for the safety of players and Lions staff.
While autograph sessions and post-practice meet-and-greets are not allowed, fans will still be able to sit and watch the nine different practice sessions. Beginning Saturday, July 31st and running through Monday, August 16th, the 8:30 AM practices will be fan-friendly, with food trucks, tailgate games, merchandise for sale and other activities aside from the on-field action.
Attendance will be limited, as it always has been. So plan ahead if you’re hoping to catch the new coaching staff and Lions players in action before the season starts.
