Lions PR team nominated for the Pete Rozelle Award from the PFWA

The Detroit Lions PR team is nominated for the Pete Rozelle Award from the Pro Football Writers of America

Congratulations are in order for the Detroit Lions public relations and media relations staff. The Lions group, headed by director of football communications Eamonn Reynolds, is one of the nominees for the Pete Rozelle Award from the Pro Football Writers of America, or PFWA.

The Rozelle award is voted on by media members. As a disclaimer, I am a voting member and did cast my ballot for the Lions crew. They deserve it. Managing media spread out all over the country and numerous requests for interviews and information has not been an easy job during the pandemic, but the Lions staff did a fantastic job.

From the press release announcing the honors,

Detroit Lions — The Lions’ PR team, led by Eamonn Reynolds, received multiple nominations for the proactive way they worked to provide access to new head coach Dan Campbell and new general manager Brad Holmes in 2021. The Lions facilitated one-on-one interviews and were receptive to unique story angles during a difficult season on the field.

The Ravens, Broncos, Commanders and Patriots staffs are the other nominees. The winner will be announced after the 2022 NFL draft.
