The Detroit Lions have officially hired Antwaan Randle-El as the team’s new wide receivers coach. The Lions released a statement confirming the long-reported hire.
Randle-El was considered the leading candidate to replace Robert Prince, but it took some time for the longtime NFL wideout to become available. He was an offensive assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on their impressive run to the Super Bowl LV championship.
His work with young receivers Chris Godwin and Scotty Miller with the Buccaneers certainly stands out for Randle-El. He takes over a position group in the midst of a massive turnover, with the top four receivers from 2020 all poised to hit free agency next month.
