The injuries continue to mount for the Detroit Lions, and the latest set really hurts the blocking on the offense. This time it’s fullback Jason Cabinda and tight end Shane Zylstra.
Both left Detroit’s Week 16 matchup with the Falcons in Atlanta with knee injuries.
Cabinda’s came first, going down in the second quarter after making his second catch of the afternoon. After initially being listed as questionable to return, the Lions ruled out any return from Cabinda at halftime.
Zylstra’s injury came in the third quarter and was not pleasant to witness. It was a knee injury suffered when hit from behind while the undrafted rookie was trying to make a block on an Amon-Ra St. Brown run. Zylstra was in tears as he was carted off the field and being consoled by teammates.
