Lions close facilities due to 2 positive COVID-19 tests

The Lions lose a day of in-person prep for Saturday’s game

The Detroit Lions have closed all team facilities in Allen Park on Tuesday due to two positive tests for COVID-19. The team announced the positive tests and closure in a statement.

The identity or status of the people who tested positive is not yet known. NFL protocols during the pandemic force the team to cease all in-person activities in case of a positive test. As a result, all meetings and any practice activities will be conducted remotely.

It’s a pinch with bad timing. Because the Lions play on Saturday this week instead of Sunday, the team was off on Monday. Normally players have Tuesdays off during the season, but the unusual Saturday game alters the weekly calendar.
