The depleted Detroit Lions defense took another massive hit early on in the team’s Week 14 matchup with the Denver Broncos. Starting cornerback Jerry Jacobs suffered what looked to be a serious knee injury on the game’s opening drive.
Jacobs was carted off from the Empower Field at Mile High field in obvious pain. The Lions medical team quickly ruled him out for the rest of the game.
The undrafted rookie from Arkansas has been a bright spot for the Lions secondary. He’s played quite capably as a starter and has been emerging as more of a playmaker in the last few games. He’s consistently been one of Detroit’s best run defenders all season.
There is a video clip of the injury available, but be warned it is not for the squeamish whatsoever. Don’t look if you don’t like seeing bad injuries.
