Lions activate FB Jason Cabinda, sign TE Shane Zylstra among roster moves

Cabinda has not played in 2022 after injuring his ankle over the summer

There will be a traditional fullback in the Detroit Lions lineup for the first time in 2022 in Week 10. The Lions activated FB Jason Cabinda off the PUP list on Saturday as part of a series of roster moves.

Cabinda has missed all season with an ankle injury suffered in training camp. He returned to practice two weeks ago and progressed enough to get into the lineup this week.

Detroit also signed TE Shane Zylstra to the active roster from the practice squad. Zylstra was a practice squad elevation last week and caught his first career touchdown in the win over Green Bay. The Lions had an open roster spot after waiving CB AJ Parker on Friday.

The Lions also elevated LB Jarrad Davis and WR Stanley Berryhill from the practice squad to the active roster. It’s the first potential game appearance for Davis in 2022 after he returned to the Lions this offseason. He was called up as insurance for LB Malcolm Rodriguez, who is questionable with an elbow injury.
