Lincoln Riley hints at possible USC football roster upgrade

Lincoln Riley raised some eyebrows with a brief comment he made at Big Ten media days.

At Big Ten media days, Lincoln Riley was a man everyone wanted to talk to. It makes sense. Riley leads a high-profile program at USC. The Trojans have a target on their backs heading into the Big Ten. There is a “blood in the water” feeling among many pundits in the college football world, who think USC isn’t ready for the Big Ten and is going to get shoved around in a league which prides itself on rugged, sturdy Midwestern toughness.

Riley was asked about USC’s physicality (or lack thereof), the program’s move to the Big Ten, the Trojans’ NIL struggles, and some of the key people in the program, both on and off the field. Another topic Riley was asked about: roster construction. Riley offered an interesting little note to Luca Evans of the Orange County Register. If USC is not completely finished with its roster, one would love to think that a defensive or offensive lineman might be part of the mix in terms of a late-stage addition for 2024.

We shall see what happens.
