With each offseason that comes around, changes will be made.
After the USC trojans lost to Tulane in the Cotton Bowl, players began to enter the transfer portal, which is not surprising.
For the players who decided to stick around, Lincoln Riley and his team got back to work in preparation for next season.
It was overall a successful first year with Riley, and he did his best to encourage and motivate the players looking ahead to the 2023 season.
“You were meant to be here, alright? It’s because the stuff we talked about last offseason. You made the choices to be here … If we wouldn’t have made the choices and the sacrifices that everybody in this room has made, we wouldn’t be here. But here we are.”
Last offseason, Riley brought in an entirely new coaching staff and changed the roster dramatically.
It worked, because they landed a spot in the Pac-12 title game and were just a few plays away from a Cotton Bowl victory.
The transfer portal isn’t going away, either, and Riley and the Trojans have already brought in a few more guys, including Arizona WR Dorian Singer and Oklahoma State LB Mason Cobb.
They made the choice to be here, as did Riley and his staff, and big things are in store for 2023.
