Liberty WR CJ Daniels enjoys ‘a great visit’ to Auburn

CJ Daniels played for Hugh Freeze at Liberty and the Tigers are hoping for a reunion on the Plains.

[autotag]Hugh Freeze[/autotag] hosted a familiar face Friday when Liberty wide receiver transfer [autotag]CJ Daniels[/autotag] took his visit to the Plains.

Daniels entered the portal on Thursday and immediately became one of the top wide receivers available after leading the Flames with 55 catches for 1,067 yards and 10 touchdowns.

With his connection to Freeze and Auburn’s need at wide receiver, it was a no-brainer for the Georgia native to visit the Plains.

“You know, it was definitely a great visit,” Daniels told On3’s Cole Pinkston. “It was great to see familiar faces. It was a great visit overall.”

Auburn has already landed two wide receivers from the transfer portal but they are not done looking for help and the 6-foot-2, 200-pounder could provide a major boost for Auburn’s offense.

“They said it was a big need,” Daniels said. “Coach Freeze said he wouldn’t contact me if he didn’t need me. He said I can come in and be impactful.”
