A member of the Michigan State baseball family has been elected to the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Former head coach Danny Litwhiler will be a member of the Hall of Fame’s 2021 class.

Litwhiler led the Spartans baseball program from 1964 until 1982, compiling a record of 489–362–8. Litwhiler also led the Spartans to the NCAA tournament three times along with two Big Ten championships.
Among the top players who played for Coach Litwhiler are Steve Garvey, Kirk Gibson and Rick Miller.
Litwhiler will be Michigan State’s first representative in the College Baseball Hall of Fame.
