[autotag]Legacy Motor Club[/autotag] announced on Thursday that Corey Heim will be the team’s simulator and reserve driver for the 2024 season; however, there was another piece of news. Starting in 2024, Trevor Bayne will be the team’s Driver Optimization Leader. Bayne will “focus primarily on the race preparation of John Hunter Nemechek, Erik Jones, and co-owner Jimmie Johnson.”
Bayne has spent the last two years racing part-time with Joe Gibbs Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series as he pursued a full-time ride. After not coming away with a win in his 12 starts, the 2011 Daytaon 500 winner now shifts into a new role with Legacy Motor Club. For now, it appears his push for a full-time ride will be put on the backburner.
We are adding on two important members to the Club! Welcome Trevor Bayne as our Driver Optimization Leader and Corey Heim as our simulator & reserve driver! #TeamToyota https://t.co/twWAQwSvzs pic.twitter.com/c5VGavnkzq

Legacy Motor Club is taking steps in the right direction. Since November 2022, the organization has hired Johnson, Bayne, and Matt Kenseth. The NASCAR team has everything in place to be successful, and it’s time to translate that to the race team. With a new Toyota Racing partnership, Legacy Motor Club appears to be on the rise.
