It was an emotional night for LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers for multiple reasons.
On Monday, video of Jacob Blake being shot by Wisconsin police led to athletes from all over the sports world — including James and other NBA stars — reacting in horror.
The sports world also celebrated the life of late Lakers star Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna on 8/24, and that included L.A. wearing special Black Mamba jerseys in their Game 4 playoff win over the Portland Trail Blazers
It was during that game that the Lakers went up 24-8 — that’s both of Bryant’s numbers — in their eventual victory, and James noticed the eerie coincidence that so many fans noted on Twitter Monday night:
LeBron after the game the Lakers had dedicated to Kobe Bryant : "When I looked up and saw we were up 24-8, I was like, okay, he's here in the building. It’s a beautiful, beautiful night for our franchise and something we will always remember – this moment.” pic.twitter.com/Q4AekQHNjP
