There’s one evergreen thing to know about LeBron James: Everything he does is intentional.
As we near this week’s upcoming NBA trade deadline, it’s been worth wondering what’s next for the Los Angeles Lakers all-time great. He’s fed the bonkers trade speculation himself, posting a cryptic hourglass emoji after a tough Los Angeles loss. Even though he denied there being any Lakers trade possibilities with a statement through Rich Paul, he’s LeBron James, folks. Speculation about his future never just … goes away.

It will almost certainly not fade after James wore a New York Knicks towel over his shoulders following a win in the Big Apple on Saturday night:

In all honesty, this probably just is a coincidence. It is not uncommon for home arenas to provide team-branded towels to opposing players. However, it might say something that James elected to wear the towel over his shoulders for his postgame interview. What timing.
The Lakers are in the middle of a playoff push and have one of the greatest players of all time on their roster. It is highly unlikely they punt on any remaining team control of James, if he does indeed opt out of a player option this summer. That said, we’re a few days away from the deadline, meaning everyone is rightfully on high alert about what might happen with him next.
