Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is the oldest player in the NBA and he is a bit older than some of the head coaches in the league, too.
After the Lakers defeated Utah on Tuesday night, James was asked if it “felt weird” that he was older than Will Hardy, the head coach of the Jazz.
James didn’t originally seem to understand the question and he asked the reporter, Chris McGee, to repeat himself. McGee clarified and James was genuinely stunned.
The great @geeter3 asks LeBron James how he wraps his head around being older than Jazz coach Will Hardy. Great reaction pic.twitter.com/UxD2WGldWJ

James stumbled on his words and eventually said:
“Oh, wow. Oh my goodness. … That’s a good one. You got me on that one. That’s crazy.”
Hardy, 35, is currently the youngest active head coach in the NBA.
But he isn’t the only individual leading a franchise who is younger than James. Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla (35) and Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault (38) are both younger than James as well.
These coaches may want to keep that information to themselves, though. While it’s not uncommon for those around basketball to make jokes about James’ age, it’s also not the best idea.
