Perhaps you are noticing a theme with some of LeBron James’ Instagram posts lately, especially when it comes to some of his favorites players from the past and ones who are known as the greatest to play the game. LeBron James isn’t buying arguments from people that legends from the past couldn’t play in today’s NBA and in Saturday morning’s edition, James highlighted the game of Los Angeles Lakers legend Jerry West, one of the best scorers in NBA history.
According to LeBron, West would have no trouble getting buckets in today’s game, saying that he would average at least 24 points and eight assists per game if he was playing now.
Yes he was! Straight Bucket Getter. Also could pass the hell out of it too. I mean he could play off the ball(c&s) and on the ball(pull ups), get to the basket and make free-throws. I’d say 24-27PPG/8assist. https://t.co/bt97HUAvY9

West was an All-Star in every season he played and he had four seasons in which he averaged 30 points per game, in an era without a 3-point line. West was also part of one of the best teams in NBA history in the 1972 Los Angeles Lakers, who won 69 games, which was surpassed 24 years later by the Bulls. West is also the only player in NBA history to win a Finals MVP (1969) in a loss.
