Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James shared a sobering message written long ago by Frederick Dougless about the 4th of July.
On the 4th of July while many in America were celebrating the day with barbeques and such, LeBron James wanted to use the national holiday to remind his millions of followers of a message from long ago about the differences for many millions of Americans in what the 4th of July signifies for them.
James shared an excerpt from Douglass’ famous speech about the 4th of July, entitled “What to a slave is the 4th of July?”
