LeBron James says Patriots quarterback Tom Brady ‘gets counted out every year’

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James told reporters on Sunday that he’s always keeping an eye on the play of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady.

Over the last few years, both LeBron James and Tom Brady have both come to develop a more public appreciation for each other’s talents over the years. As Brady attempts to get to yet another Super Bowl at the age of 42 and LeBron James turns 35 today in his 17th season, the two have acknowledged the similarities between their respective careers.

That attention continued after Sunday’s win over Dallas when James was asked if he was keeping tabs on Tom Brady, as he and his Patriots will start the playoffs this Saturday against the Tennessee Titans.

“I definitely pay attention to what Brady does, I mean, how can you not?” James said while seated at his locker after beating Dallas. “One of the greatest football players to ever walk the face of the Earth. He gets counted out every year, pretty much. They’re saying, you can’t do this, you can’t do that. He just tries to continue to put their franchise in a position to be successful.”

Brady and his Patriots unexpectedly lost to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, costing them a bye week in the first round of the playoffs. According to most sportsbooks, the Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson are the favorites to win the Super Bowl. But LeBron James doesn’t sound like he will be one who counts out Tom Brady.
