LeBron James says ‘just make sure to hug your family’ after Friday game

The Los Angeles Lakers star shared how he felt after the death of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi and seven others.

The Los Angeles Lakers did their best to get back to business on Friday night against the Portland Trail Blazers as they continue to mourn the tragic loss of Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gigi, and seven others in a helicopter crash on Sunday. LeBron James put it upon himself to lead Laker Nation, giving a speech before the game and pledging to honor Kobe. And after the game, he spoke to reporters for the first time since Bryant’s tragic passing.

In the week since the tragedy, LeBron and the rest of the players on the Lakers had slowly started to open themselves up. Last night, James spoke to reporters for the first time and shared the impact that the sudden loss of Bryant left on him.

On the night that the Lakers schedule game against the Clippers was cancelled earlier this week, James was able to attend his son Bronny’s final home game of the season at Sierra Canyon.
