LeBron James says he’s not concerned with West 8th seed race

The Los Angeles Lakers star says he is not concerned with the current battle for who gets to play them.

After Saturday evening’s loss against the Toronto Raptors, the conversation in the postgame press conference for Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James shifted to a question about the race for the 8th seed in the Western Conference.

New Orleans has started off 0-2 to begin the restart and there are only more questions regarding the status of Zion Williamson, who has yet to play more than 15 minutes in either game the Pelicans have played so far in the bubble. Meanwhile, the Portland Trail Blazers got a crucial win to bring them a little closer to the Memphis Grizzlies. Portland faces the Boston Celtics on Sunday and the Grizzlies have a game against the San Antonio Spurs, who knocked off another 8-seed contender, Sacramento. But no matter what’s going on, LeBron is not paying attention to it yet.

To force a play-in tournament, the 9th seed must be four games within the 8th seed in either conference. The Blazers are currently 2.5 games behind Memphis.
