Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been pretty smart about his investments over the course of his career. Along with his business partners and friends, James has charted a path to tons of off-court success to go with his legendary NBA career. In addition to that, LeBron shared over the weekend that he also has a couple of trading cards from the collection of his rookie cards that went for $1.8 million. Talk about having diversified investments.
On Saturday night, a LeBron rookie card that has his autograph and a patch from a game-worn jersey went for nearly $2 million and James commented on an Instagram post about it that he has a couple that he’s sitting on.

Even as a rookie, LeBron clearly understood the value that his image would have. It’s also likely one of the biggest reasons that he decided to skip college and go straight to the league out of high school, is that his high school games sold out college arenas, as well as being shown on local pay per view, all money that young LeBron never saw.
