LeBron James, Russell Westbrook won’t play versus Warriors

The Lakers will again be shorthanded against Golden State, but not as much as they were against the Timberwolves on Thursday.

After two full days off, the Los Angeles Lakers will continue their preseason slate with a contest on Sunday versus the Golden State Warriors.

During L.A.’s last game on Thursday, which took place against the Minnesota Timberwolves, it was very shorthanded, as it was without LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Russell Westbrook, Kendrick Nunn and Patrick Beverley.

The Lakers will still be shorthanded Sunday night, but not as much as they were on Thursday. Still, two of their main stars will not take the court.

James and Westbrook will be out against the defending NBA champs, as will Beverley. However, the good news is Davis, who missed the last two games with lower back tightness, will be in action tonight.

For Golden State, Klay Thompson is expected to sit out this contest.

L.A. is 0-3 in the preseason. Although preseason records don’t officially count for anything, it would be very helpful if it won at least a couple of these contests to build confidence and reinforce what head coach Darvin Ham has been instilling.
