LeBron James responds to report he may return for last week of season

After a report indicated the Lakers are hoping LeBron James will return for the last few games of the season, he pushed back at that report.

Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James suffered a right foot tendon injury nearly four weeks ago, and he has been gradually recovering from the ailment.

He stopped wearing a walking boot after about two weeks. According to head coach Darvin Ham, he has been doing three intense workouts a day to prepare for a return to game action.

There has been no definitive timetable for his return, but a report on Thursday from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said the team is hoping he will be able to return for a few games in early April.

James himself pushed back at that report.

The Lakers will start a five-game road trip on Wednesday. It concludes with a “road” contest at the Los Angeles Clippers on April 5. They then host the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz to close the schedule.

The Lakers are in ninth place in the Western Conference with a 36-37 record. They’re 1.5 games behind the sixth-place Golden State Warriors.
