Bronny James, USC freshman and son of NBA star LeBron James, suffered a cardiac event on July 24.
With his status still questionable for the 2023-24 season, James was able to provide a positive update on his son’s condition on Monday.
Following the Los Angeles Lakers loss to the Miami Heat, Lebron James says that things are “going in the right direction” regarding his son’s return to the court and says that Bronny could learn more about his status at the end of this month.
“Everything’s on the up and up,” LeBron said. “We’re proud of his progress. We’re proud of his strength.”
If Bronny is cleared to play at the end of the month, there is a possibility that he will play against Auburn on Dec. 17, when the USC Trojans visit Neville Arena in a return trip of a home-and-home series that began last season in Los Angeles. Last season, the Trojans took down Auburn in a tight game, 74-71. This season’s matchup will feature many talented young players such as Auburn’s [autotag]Aden Holloway[/autotag] and USC’s Isaiah Collier.
Bronny James was a five-star composite combo guard as a member of the 2023 class according to 247Sports recruiting rankings. He was the No. 22 overall player from the 2023 class and the No. 5 overall guard.
