On the same day that LeBron James could take home his 4th NBA Championship, he was again the target of insults from the President of the United States. Donald Trump, who is still dealing with the coronavirus that has swept the White House, went on Rush Limbaugh to talk about a variety of things, including LeBron James and the NBA.
The NBA, and by extension LeBron James, has become a political talking point for the Republican party. LeBron was once again in the crosshairs of a political fight. Trump said that he doesn’t watch the NBA because it’s “too political” and that LeBron is a “nasty” spokesperson for the league, as transcribed by TMZ.
“LeBron is a spokesman for the democratic party and a very nasty spokesman,” Trump said. “Because, again, I’ve done so much for the Black community and people don’t wanna see that and he’s a great basketball player but people don’t wanna see a guy that way. They don’t want to see that. We have enough difficulty during the week, you don’t wanna sit down watching a basketball game and then watch somebody that hates your guts, okay, He’s a hater.”
