After a spectacular playoff run, culminating in his 4th NBA Championship and a 4th NBA Finals MVP award, LeBron James is once again recognized as the best player in the world by the NBA’s flagship video game franchise.
NBA 2K21 released new player ratings on Thursday, which featured James once again as the top-ranked player in the game, with a 98 overall rating. James has been regarded as the best player in the world pretty consistently since winning the 2016 NBA Championship over the Warriors, but with the play of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Kawhi Leonard over the past years, there were challenges to the throne.

However, after all the challenges to the throne, LeBron remains there with the crown on his head. Prior to his great playoff run to a championship, James also had a regular-season bounce-back season after suffering an injury in the 2018-2019 season. He led the NBA in assists and averaged 10 assists per game for the first time in his storied career.
