LeBron James on Victor Wembanyama: ‘He doesn’t have a ceiling’

LeBron James had some high praise for Victor Wembanyama after the San Antonio Spurs’ loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The San Antonio Spurs traveled out West to take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, but unfortunately, they weren’t able to bring home a win. The Lakers earned a 123-118 victory, but rookie Victor Wembanyama still managed to make some history, becoming the youngest player ever to record a 5×5 game (at least five points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks).

Heading into the 2023 NBA Draft, Wembanyama was the most heralded prospect since LeBron James, and on Friday evening, the two stars played against one another. Wembanyama has been nothing short of incredible so far this year, and everyone around the league recognizes it. James included.

After the game, James had some extremely high praise for Wembanyama.

“He doesn’t have a ceiling,” James said via ESPN. “He can do whatever he wants to do in his career. It seems like he enjoys the game. It seems like he puts the work in, just from the outside looking in. … I said a long time ago how special he was, and it’s really that simple.”

Wembanyama has a chance to be one of the best NBA players ever.
