Sometimes it still doesn’t seem real that Kobe Bryant is gone. But the tragedy of his death, alongside his daughter Gigi and seven others in a helicopter crash in late January, still lives on in the minds of many. With the global pandemic, we’ve had even more time to think about the tragedy, because life is far from normal these days. LeBron touched on the lack of normalcy and the constant reminders of Bryant on Monday afternoon.
Following Monday’s Lakers practice at Walt Disney World, LeBron James told the gathered reporters that there still isn’t a day that goes by that he hasn’t thought about Kobe. He also had a very prescient response later in his availability that rings true as well: nothing in 2020 is normal.
USA TODAY’s Mark Medina is at the bubble and was at LeBron’s press conference on Monda.

The Lakers have been at Disney World for nearly two weeks now. While they have been allowed to practice for the first time in months, the new lifestyle, away from their families and support systems, is still an adjustment, on top of everything else this year has thrown at them.
