LeBron James has accomplished just about everything a player can do in the NBA, but his longevity and durability at his current age is simply remarkable.
At 36 years old, James continues to defy Father Time with the way he’s kept his body in shape at this stage in his career, and he would’ve looked more impressive this season had Solomon Hill not landed on his ankle when making a play for a live ball.
As James prepares for another championship run with the Los Angeles Lakers next season, where he’ll turn 37 in December, many are wondering how long James will play.
His contract with the Lakers doesn’t expire until 2023, but it’s difficult to predict how his situation will look at that time.
But on the “SmartLess” podcast hosted by Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett, James discussed his future with the Lakers and how many years he hopes to play, as transcribed by Michael Corvo of ClutchPoints:

There’s no doubting James can stay healthy given he reportedly spends over $1.5 million every season on maintaining his body’s health, but freak accidents like Hill’s landing this season showed James isn’t as superhuman as he looks.
But if he manages to pull off playing from four to seven more years, he could break Vince Carter’s record for most seasons played in the NBA. James would be 43 years old in seven more seasons.
James has previously said a goal of his is to play with his son Bronny James in the league, but only time will tell if that happens.
It would also be a good sign for the Lakers as any team is automatically a contender when James sports that jersey.
