A cool thing happened on Tuesday night as the Los Angeles Lakers took down the Oklahoma City Thunder 112-107 to win their NBA-leading 12th game of the season: LeBron James notched a triple-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.
That made NBA history. James became the first player ever to get a triple-double against every team (as ESPN pointed out, Russell Westbrook just needs to get one against his former team, the Thunder, to match James).
But when he was informed of the fact that he had accomplished that feat by Frank Vogel, he thought the Lakers head coach was being funny (at about the 3:45 mark here):

“I had no idea. Coach Vogel came in here and said, ‘Congratulations.’ I was like, I thought he was joking about my seven turnovers because I’ve been taking care of the ball so much and he said, first player in NBA history to have a triple-double versus 30 teams, every team. So I was like, ‘Okay. That is pretty cool.'”
He also said he heard it from assistant coach Jason Kidd regarding those seven turnovers. So maybe it’s good for the Lakers that he’s thinking about keeping his turnovers down and not about his counting stats.
