LeBron James’ cryptic tweet following the Lakers’ loss to the Hawks

It is anyone’s best guess why LeBron James posted an hourglass tweet after the Lakers’ loss to the Hawks on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Lakers are yet again sliding downward. After a brief spurt during which they won five of seven games, they have dropped back-to-back games against the Houston Rockets and Atlanta Hawks, two teams they likely should’ve beaten without too much trouble.

Even worse, their defense, which wasn’t too terrible for much of this season, has now become a huge culprit. They surrendered 135 points to Houston and 138 points to Atlanta, and their rebounding and transition defense were very weak.

The Lakers now have a 24-25 record, and the sands of time are running out for them to make the type of sustained run they made late last season.

Late last night, LeBron James posted a cryptic tweet that consisted merely of an hourglass graphic.

Given James’ history of passive-aggressive behavior, it is anyone’s guess what exactly he meant by his tweet and what he hopes happens in the weeks and months to come.
